IMAGE "It all started with a dream" is what IMaGE drummer Brian King may say when asked how the band got started. Although he doesn't take any credit for IMaGE getting started and feels it was all simply a group effort from IMaGE Rhythm Guitarist Cody Saxton and IMaGE Lead Guitarist Ian Wilkinson. Brian had played with Cody in another band called Fireblind, Brian and Cody hooked up through Musicians.net when the ill-fated site was still going strong. From there, the Bond of friendship grew even after FireBlind disbanded. However, it was the friendship between Brian And Ian that grew first, simply because they played together in Brian and Ian's first band,before Fireblind and IMaGE Ian and Brian played on stage together often in their first band. and Brian knew as soon as he called Cody to start IMaGE that Ian was the man for the Lead guitar Position. Soon, IMaGE's first singer hopped on board and brought IMaGE Bassist Brian Powers with him. Soon, IMaGE released Their original singer due to a Number of issues, and the 4-man band was left battered and frusturated. The search continued for that Special Singer, and after they tried out a few others that didn't work out, the IMaGE rockers spirits was becoming lifeless, and hopeless. Just when IMaGE was on their last Breath, Drummer Brian Stumbled across an ad, The singer had the look, IMaGE hopped he had the voice. It took only a moment at rehearsal when they tried out the new singer for the IMaGE Boys to realize this guy was the one....and it was all grins and smiles in that Room in which they played in. That singer was Bobby Wilson. Thanks to Bobby the brother bond in a band between the 4 members grew to unprecedented heights. They played their first live performance on Oct. 28, 2000 at Halloween party at Loco Hill in Anna, TX. Before a crowd of 200, they blew peoples’ minds with their new sound until the cops came and said “enough”. Their next live performance, Dec 12, 2000 was an opening slot, at Graffiti’s in Dallas, TX. The show went so well, and the crowd response was so overwhelming that the owner offered them a headlining slot as they walked off stage. Within three more shows, Pistol Whippin’ Ike was invited to headline the March 2001 Harder Beat Magazine Showcase at the Galaxy Club in Deep Ellum, Dallas, TX. This event showcases some of Dallas’ most up and coming new bands, in which Pistol Whippin’ Ike enthralled a house full of music savvy people, and left them yearning for more.In a very short time, this band Pistol Whippin’ Ike has stood up and taken charge of the listener and it is being felt and noticed in the North Texas music scene.
